When you’re from Chicago you’ve grown up loving Chicago Hot Dogs. When you find yourself away from the Windy City you search far and wide for a true Chicago Hot Dog experience. So we found ourselves at Murray Brothers Caddy Shack Restaurant, World Gulf Resort, St. Augustine Florida, owned by the actor Bill Murray and his five brothers (all Chicago natives) with brother Andy Murray at the helm as chef
THE GOOD: Very tasty with all the key ingredients present, including the poppy seed bun, Vienna brand beef hot dog, mustard, famous neon green Chicago relish, chopped onions, tomatoes, celery salt, dill pickle wedge and sport peppers. The crinkle cut French Fries were cooked to perfection.
COULD USE IMPROVEMENT: The placement of the yellow mustard on top of the dill pickle did little to enhance the flavor of the Vienna Beef Hot Dog itself. This drew some ire from some Chicago purists when we posted this picture on the Facebook group hotdogchicagostyle.com The mustard should be the first ingredient on top of the beef dog.
