Blue Parrot Oceanfront Cafe, St. George Island Florida

We hit the trifecta today with our visit to the Blue Parrot Oceanfront Cafe on St. George Island Florida. Great food, great service and the most amazing location right on the beach just steps from the Gulf of Mexico.

THE GOOD:  All our dishes were delicious. The fried Grouper sandwich is one of the best around. Fresh, plump and fried to absolute perfection. It comes with two sides. Pictured here are the crinkle cut French fries and cole slaw. No shortage of fries if you want to share with your canine companion. Other members in our party chose a side salad and fresh vegetable medley for their sides.

I had the grilled Grouper topped with crab meat, asparagus and a very delicious lemon tarragon cream sauce. A very tasty and large serving that came with a side salad and perfectly cooked vegetables. Ask for the “Imperial.”  You won’t regret it.

We also ordered the “ Grouper Old School.”  Fresh Grouper, lightly breaded, sautéed with lemon and two sides. A basic Grouper dish done right. Or as the Blue Parrot describes it on their menu, “enjoy fish the way we eat it.”

The Blue Parrot has a large assortment of tasty tropical drinks, beer and wine.

Now for the best, the outdoor seating is right on the beach. One only needs to step off their deck and be on the sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico. Even better, the beach here on St. George Island is dog friendly. Just be a good egg and clean up after your dog or ruin it for everybody.

COULD USE IMPROVEMENT:  Nothing noted.
