Today’s travels took us to Marianna Florida and Mashawy Grill. We chose this restaurant because of their overwhelming 5 star reviews and extensive menu. The Greek/Mediterranean fare lived up to its reviews.
THE GOOD: I ordered the lamb chops that came with salad, hummus, pita bread and Bashmati rice and potatoes. My wife ordered Greek Moussaka, thinly sliced eggplant layered multiple times with Mashawy spiced ground beef, onion, bell pepper, tomato, potato, served over a bed of Bashmati rice, also served with salad, hummus and pita bread. The really good news was that these dishes were obviously freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. We also ordered an appetizer consisting of Falafel, Sambousa, and stuffed grape leaves The flavors were absolutely amazing. All this plus two non alcoholic drinks cost us $48. A real bargain considering the quality of our meal.
COULD USE IMPROVEMENT: Nothing negative about the food. This restaurant does not serve alcohol and the quality of the meal would be even better with an accompanied of wine. They do allow people to bring their own bottle of wine which they will serve for a nominal uncorking fee.
