R’Reileigh’s Daybreak Cafe, Lilian Alabama

Located less than a mile over the state line from Pensacola Florida is one of our favorite breakfast spots, R’Reileigh’s Daybreak Cafe in Lilian Alabama.  We would never have known about it had it not been for locals who told us how wonderful it is.  “Have the biscuits and gravy, they said. You won’t find any better anywhere you go.”  They were right.

THE GOOD: R’Reileigh’s has the perfect charm that lives up to their moniker “Just like mom’s kitchen.” Good old home cooked food prepared in their kitchen with windows you can see into while your meal is prepared.  The service is equally pleasant with a country charm.

I had the smoked ham (cut daily) and cheese omelette, opting for sliced tomatoes instead of accompanied potatoes.  While we didn’t have biscuits and gravy this trip we did have to ask for a side order of their gravy to spoon a little bit on our omelettes. It’s that good.  Don’t get us wrong, we did have their biscuits in the past and they truly are the best we’ve ever had.

My wife ordered the veggie omelette that consisted of mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions.  She chose to forgo the bell pepper and cheese, but did have a side of their delicious sliced tomatoes. She also had to have a little bit of gravy to enhance the taste of her omelette as well. so we split our order.

Needless to say, we both had a fantastic breakfast.
